Mission Statement
The Motorheadmen Foundation exists to celebrate, preserve, and pass down the legacy of automotive craftsmanship—specifically the muscle cars, hot rods, and classic vehicles that have played a vital role in shaping the culture of Delaware and beyond.
Values
Preserve Automotive History:
We’re dedicated to preserving the stories of those who built cars from the ground up by recovering and restoring the vital parts that made it all possible. From the early days of scavenging salvage yards for rare components to meticulously bringing them back to life in home garages, we celebrate the passion, patience, and skill that turned scrap into automotive masterpieces—keeping alive a tradition where doing it all yourself was the only way to make dreams real.
Create a Community for All Motorheads:
We want to provide a place for both seasoned car builders and newcomers to come together, share stories, and learn from one another. Whether you’re working on a hot rod, muscle car, or motorcycle, our goal is to build a community where everyone is welcome. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been wrenching for decades or are just getting started—if you’ve got a passion for cars, we’ve got a space for you.
Offer Hands-On Learning Opportunities:
Our mission goes beyond just displaying cars; we want to teach and inspire. Building the Future: A Trade School in Delaware. The long-term vision of the Motorheadmen Foundation is to establish a hands-on automotive training center in Kent County, Delaware. This school will be designed for young people, veterans, and individuals seeking to enter or return to the skilled trades. Key components of the facility will include: a fully equipped restoration garage, classrooms for evening and weekend courses, technical training focused on vehicles 2005 and older, small group sessions with one-on-one mentoring within the MotorHeadMen Community and beyond.
Honor Our Legacy:
The Foundation isn’t just about cars—it’s also about honoring my family’s history of craftsmanship in Delaware. For generations, the Stokesbury family has been deeply involved in the trades, from boat building to restoring classic vehicles. We want to ensure that this legacy is celebrated and passed down to future generations through our training center, education programs, and community efforts.
Foster the Next Generation of Builders:
As the automotive world continues to evolve, we want to encourage the next generation of car enthusiasts and skilled tradesmen. Whether you’re passionate about restoring cars, building engines, or learning about automotive history, we’re committed to providing opportunities for the younger generation to develop the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in this field.
Why It Matters
There’s something sacred about bringing an old car back to life. But the real magic happens when we bring people back with it—giving them confidence, purpose, and a community that understands their passion.
We’re not here to just save old parts—we’re here to build futures.
Whether you’re looking to learn, build, restore, or just connect with others who share your love of cars, we’re here to make it happen.
Let’s keep the tradition alive and build something incredible together!
