See more of the details to why “Save the Parts.org”
SaveTheParts.org is a charitable initiative launched by the MotorHeadMen Foundation, dedicated to rescuing, restoring, and repurposing vintage car parts destined for the scrapyard. By tracking down forgotten collections from the old men that built and collected in barns, garages to men with private car collections, this project gives these relics a second life through skilled restoration and craftsmanship.
The initiative bridges automotive enthusiasts, tradespeople, and young apprentices with a shared mission—to rebuild classic cars, preserve automotive heritage, and support vocational education. Restored parts are either used in charitable vehicle rebuilds or sold; every dollar generated is reinvested into training programs and community outreach, all under the MotorHeadMen Foundation banner.
More than a restoration effort, SaveTheParts.org is a sustainable, community-driven movement—preserving the past, empowering the present, and building futures one saved part at a time.
How It Works
At the core of SaveTheParts.org is W.A. Stokesbury V, a lifelong automotive expert with deep roots in the classic car and restoration community. With decades of experience and a keen eye for hidden gems, Stokesbury travels the country—or responds to enthusiast leads—to explore potential part-rich discoveries.
1. Discovery & Evaluation
W.A. Stokesbury V visits garages, barns, junkyards, and long-forgotten lots to inspect and catalog vintage and classic car parts. Each site is carefully evaluated for historical value, restoration potential, and logistical feasibility.
2. Rescue, Restoration & Listing
Once salvaged, parts are cleaned, restored, or preserved “as found,” depending on their condition and the needs of collectors. Each item is meticulously documented with specs, photos, and provenance, then listed on SaveTheParts.org in an auction-style format.
3. Buy, Bid, or Donate
Visitors to the platform can:
- Bid on rare parts to complete restoration projects
- Buy directly from curated listings
- Donate to support ongoing recovery efforts, restoration workshops, and youth training programs
4. Proceeds That Drive Purpose
Every sale or donation fuels the Foundation’s broader mission—preserving automotive legacy, training aspiring restorers, and building a sustainable community of vintage car enthusiasts committed to giving back.
